Webinar Summary : "Essential Management during Covid-19: Your People & Your Supply Chain"
The webinar was conducted by M+V jointly with Rhenus Logistics, India on 5th May 2020. Anjali Gupta, Head – Corporate Communication Team at Rhenus Logistics, India was the moderator.
Mr. Vivek Arya’s (MD- Rhenus Logistics, India) session focused on “Managing your logistics better”. He believes the current situation has given the much-needed push to digitalization. Although the challenges in the future, emerging from fear and uncertainty, are also a reality to be acknowledged. He also shared the possible features of a post lockdown period. Digitalization, social distancing, and rebuilding of Supply Chain being a few of them. Talking of steps to be taken to restart operations after lockdown he mentioned effective communication, an emergency response system, training, sanitization, and others.
The session on “Human Resource: What’s on your mind?” was taken up by Mrs. Deepmala Datta, Market Expansion Expert at M+V. She sees the current times as both challenging and interesting. Talking of work-life post lockdown she focused on three aspects,
· New Norms – Work from home will be a new reality, gig/part-time employment will see a rise, technology will become indispensable and with data accessibility, the concerns for data security will also rise.
· Increased Productivity – These times have seen a rise in productivity. This can be attributed to the focused approach of the employees and organizations.
· Talent segmentation – Post lockdown will see hiring being put on hold but it will be a good opportunity for employees to stand out in their workplaces.
The webinar was indeed an insightful one as it shed light on some of the queries that had been going through people’s minds.
