About Panelist:
1. Payal S. Kanwar took the position as Director
General of the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2016 after
successfully completing 5 years at the chamber as the Regional Director in New
Delhi. With 15 years of experience in the field of international business
relations, public communication and advocacy, Ms. Kanwar plays a key role in
the Indo-French business relations and won the Outstanding Woman Leader Award
by the Indian Council for UN Relations and Government of Delhi in March 2017. A
gold-medalist and topper in French Honors from Punjab University (2003), she also
has a Masters in Corporate Communications from NEOMA Business School in France
(2005). She has also held senior positions at the Embassy of France in India
and BNP Paribas. Ms. Kanwar has played a pivotal role in the development of
IFCCI with the Chamber winning the Best Performing Chamber Award in 2018 and
Best Contribution in 2019 by the CCI France International. She has facilitated
several interactions between French companies and the Central & State
Ministries in India and has initiated various dialogues to promote the Govt. of
India’s ‘Make in India’ campaign. Her work with the DPIIT (erstwhile DIPP),
Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India has largely benefitted French
SMEs and large business groups. She also appeared in a number of exclusive
interviews in India and in France (DD National, TV5Monde, The Quint,
lepetitjournal.com, The Dollar Business Magazine, etc). Under her leadership,
IFCCI has grown in stature as a nodal organization for advancing the interests
of France and its co-operation with India.
